Introduction to biocybernetics

We discuss the basic features of biological regulation, the application of engineering principles to biological problems and molecular mechanisms of information processing in genomic and metabolic regulation.

This course is offered to the bachelor and master students of the University of Vienna, as part of the "Introduction to Bioinformatics" lectures organised by Prof. A. von Haeseler and the CO-BIO2 "Computational Concepts in Biology" lectures organised by Prof. T. Rattei.

High-school mathematics and biology.

Practical information

Number of participants: Variable. These lectures are public, no registration is necessary.

Length: The course takes either 2 x 50 minutes or 4 x 50 minutes depending on the lecture series arrangements.
